  1. your composition is very pleasing to look at and I love the textures. I think you can ad something to it to throw off the symmetry a bit, like some sort of object, as right now it looks like a background or some sort of framing device for something to go there. As for what object, it could be anything! perhaps wood shavings or something (just thinking back to your other idea of wood carving) or maybe some broken glass littering its way across the organic surface. You could play with the transparency of the glass and give some very interesting variety and a-symmetry to the nice concept you have now.

  2. I would like to see more of a change or cycle throughout the image. Right now I feel like there's about the same level of decay everywhere in the piece, and it might be nice to have some areas look more alive or have more vibrant colors. I would keep the piece as it is now, and make changes to some parts of the image, so it doesn't look as symmetrical in your final version. Your image with the woodcut and flowers was so vibrant, maybe you could find ways to work elements of that image into this one.

  3. Very interesting pattern. Have you figured out what you are trying to say? What would an image of say an old headline for a newspaper appearing in the image? That news is temporary and soon forgotten? Or a beautiful orchid in the middle of the squalor? That life goes on in the face of adversity? Or a human skull? Issue of life and mortality? Could this pattern be a structure for a more interesting statement and what would that statement be? Maybe clone out some of the more obvious repetitions or add to them to change them slightly from ink-blot centered. I love the distressed and old leaves you have structured, think about using this to contrast with something else?
